FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

We are a self-pay office. We do not accept any form of health insurance, car accident cases, or VA cases at this time. We do offer wellness packages and family discounts that HSA cards can be used on.

If you/your family are in financial hardship, please contact our office about our 501c3 organization, Guiding Mama Bear

Why kids?

Because our Nervous System (our brain, spine, and nerves) grows the most in the first 3 years of life. If there are any issues with the function of the Nervous System then the body breaks down. We focus on kids so we can stop this damage young and get them on the right track for an amazing, healthy life.

At what age should a child start to see a chiropractor?

You can come in as soon as you’re ready to leave home or on your way home from the hospital or birthing center. We recommend that you get your baby checked out as early as you can to have as smooth as possible of a transition into life with your newborn. Dr. Ericka’s little one was checked within hours of his birth.

If my child isn’t sick, why should they see a chiropractor?

Chiropractic isn’t about sick care like the typical medical model in our society. It’s all about staying well by improving the function of the nervous system. When your child’s nervous system is healthy, they can self-heal and self-regulate, just like they were designed to do.

How soon into my pregnancy should I start care?

Great question, as soon as you want to be healthy. So, preconception! We find most moms are planning their pregnancies and that is the best time to make sure both mom and dad are healthy before the baby is even conceived. But if you're already pregnant that's wonderful, call our office and get seen soon to optimize your health, your pregnancy, and your birth.

Do you see men?

Of course! Our practice is known for pregnancy and kids, but men, don't feel left out, your health is important too. Our individualized, customized approach is all about getting you back to health and function and then enjoying that level of health.

What if my child won’t lie down for an adjustment?

Children with a diagnosis like sensory processing disorder or autism may find it difficult to lie down on command and remain still. Rest assured that we have ways of working with them. We know how to calm them down and relax them. We can hold them during their adjustment or can even do it while we’re playing with them or while they remain standing.

My child is non-verbal, can chiropractic help?

Chiropractic doesn’t treat symptoms but rather seeks to improve the function of the nervous system. There is seemingly no limit to what may improve under care. One woman brought in her 10-year-old son, who was nonverbal and in special education classes. After being under care, he would come in chattering and even transition back to the normal population at school.

Do you have any book suggestions for more info?

Absolutely! We are constantly learning and hope that you will too. We have a special Lending Library in the office full of all sorts of books - from chiropractic to pregnancy to parenting to life, we've got it all! When you come to the office, feel free to read any of the books while you're here. You can also "check out" books from our library to take home with you for a couple of weeks! Just ask the ladies at the front desk!!

Is it safe to have a baby or child adjusted?

We use about the same pressure you’d use to touch your eyelid for our youngest practice members. Babies usually sleep right through their adjustment. We’ll tailor our technique to what is appropriate for your child’s age, often using just a fingertip hold or a vibration.

Can chiropractic help with infertility?

Yes! We focus on the function of the nervous system for both women and men to make sure the nerve supply to the reproductive organs are functioning optimally. If you are having trouble conceiving, or have experienced a miscarriage, call our office to schedule a consultation to discuss how chiropractic can help you conceive!
